A Chalky Thanks

For my “Start a Smile” project I made a chalk picture that thanks doctors, nurses, veterans, and first responders. I wanted mine to stand out and look different from others, so I combined all of the symbols that have been commonly used to thank people in different fields. I drew on the Sea Wall in Situate, Massachusetts where everyone could see it. Although I was freezing and had chalk all over me, I didn’t care because the people around me were happy to watch me. I may not be able to thank everyone but I can at least thank the people around me by doing something that makes them feel appreciated.
