The Vacuum Container is an attachment that can go next to a cutting board so chopped foods such as carrots and celery will not fly all over the spacecraft. This attachment is made for a spacecraft that is going to a small asteroid that will be pushed into the moon’s orbit. A hose attaches to the back of the vent that is on the container. The other end of the hose will attach to the ventilation system of the spacecraft to create suction so foods will get sucked into the container as they are chopped. The astronauts will eat off the vent so the food will not fly away. The vent has small holes so no food will go into the hose. It has no bottom so it can go on the cutting board. This may also help allow astronauts not to have to eat tubed food. This container will be made out of a feedstock recycled from plastic parts from the spacecraft.
