Renal stones are problematic and pose a severe health risk to astronauts in space. In order to prevent kidney stones from occurring, I designed a water bottle that tracks the recommended amount of water astronauts should drink per day (two liters). This two liter bottle would have a small purification system in it to make sure the water was fully clean, (due to most water being derived from the astronauts waste) as well as a timer, used to make sure the astronaut is drinking enough water. Once you woke up, you would fill the bottle, then start the timer. If you hadn’t drank the contents of the bottle within twelve hours of your waking, the timer would make a repetitive, loud, beeping noise until you fully drank the contents. I believe this would prevent many dehydration problems, such as kidney stones in space.
