My idea is a lunch box that can have the air vacuumed out. Something used on Earth to keep foods longer is a vacuum sealer, so I thought what if astronauts could do that with a lunch box. My design contains the box (main compartment for food, silverware container, and a vacuum port) along with a lid. My design is designed for Mars. The astronauts could either leave the container at base, or be able to take it with them on missions. This would advance long term human space exploration by allowing the astronauts to preserve their food and easily travel with it. My idea is designed to be printed with a generic plastic, which would help insulate the container and keep the food warm.
