P.B.C.O.S. Project

PBCOS stands for Polyurethane Boxes Creating Oxygen in Space. The 3D printed Cooling box will be printed out of polyurethane foam, used in coolers for keeping ice longer. The box will be 10x10x14. The astronauts will heat up the ice cube, forming H2O bubbles, which will contain O2, or oxygen. These will be the backup source if a spacesuit loses air. The astronaut will supply these oxygen sockets in the mask, for backup purposes. These will be taken by mouth for oxygen and will give the astronaut a few seconds for recovery.
