The purpose of this pin was no matter what happened, it was able to be read. It’s written in English and in Braille for any Veterans that have lost an eye or even their sight. The colors were chosen because of the Purple Heart. Purple Heart is a military decoration awarded to soldiers that have been killed or have served. All soldiers stand for the Purple Heart. The bronze star was chosen because of the Bronze Star Medal which is awarded for heroic service or meritorious service in combat zone. The two awards were combined together with the “Thank you” in both English and Braille to get this pin. The cause of this pin was to make all soldiers feel like they are heard. Soldiers shouldn’t be left out due to a loss or a disability. Soldiers have risked their lives and maybe even lost sight or even hearing.
