There are 1,417,370 brave men and women who have chosen the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Each of these men and women have chosen to serve in each of the six branches of the U.S. Military (including Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Space Force). The Veterans Day pin, named “The Six Ultimate Sacrifices,” salutes and honors all men and women, including the blind, who have served in the U.S. Military in some form of service. The reason why the Veterans Day pin is called “The Six Ultimate Sacrifices” is because there are six branches of the military, representing six opportunities to give the ultimate sacrifice, and people have chosen to perform the ultimate sacrifice in at least one branch. The Veterans Day pin also honors the veterans who have fulfilled the ultimate sacrifice for their country in one of the six branches of the U.S. Military.
