Department Of Defense Pin

My pin is similar to the Department of Defense logo, which is the organization responsible for running all branches of the military. The Department of Defense has over 1.4 million employees, which are all of the active duty service members of the United States. The pin features a bird, which is a traditional symbol of the United States and the military of that country, with a badge featuring a horizontal blue stripe and thirteen vertical stripes, colored in red and white, to represent the original thirteen colonies of the United States. Above the bird, there are thirteen stars, again representing those colonies. The bird is holding in its talons three arrows, which are again a traditional symbol of the military of this country. Below the bird is writing reading “We Love Veterans.”
