USA Veterans Pin

My pin is in the shape of a star, and the colors honor the U.S. Army flag, which is black and gold, and the United States Flag which is red, white and blue. There is a star on the U.S. Army flag, and 50 stars on the United States Flag, which we know represent the 50 states. I chose to honor the U.S. Army flag for a couple of reasons. 1. To honor my grandpa, who passed away a couple of years ago. He was in the Army during Korea. I’m not sure what his rank was, but I know he was stationed in England. 2. Because the symbol on the flag is also in the shape of a star. The colors of the flag, black and gold, have meaning. According to reference.com, “black represents knowledge and the law, while gold symbolizes honor and the Army’s achievements.”
