Honoring Veterans

My pin is in the shape of a heart because of the appreciation I have for all Veterans for making the ultimate sacrifice for my country. These are dangerous times and we need heroes like these in our lives and the heart represents how grateful I am for them. The stripes on my pin represent the original 13 Colonies and the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well. Red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance and justice. Finally, The stars represent how on the actual american flag the stars show the 50 states we have created out of the bravery and courage of the veterans that serve our country.
