The land of the free and brave

When you first look at my pin, you will see two sentences. “Land of the Free” and “Home of the Brave” describes the Country that the veterans put their life on the line to protect. There is a group of stars on both sides of the American flag. The stars signify the respect and awe that the veterans deserve. I took inspiration from a verse of the “Star Spangled Banner” It is “and the flag was still there”. This helps us picture soldiers in action around the world, fighting so that at the end of the day after the dust has settled, their flag still stands. The hill the flag stands on takes inspiration from the sculpture of the Marines lifting the flag after Iwo Jima - showing the grit and determination that every veteran shows. Finally, the triangles take inspiration from the honor badges and some military signets/logos.
