I designed my pin in a way that displays some of the more important branches of the military that apply to me since my Great-Grandfather was a part of the Air Force before my great-grandfather transferred to the Navy to help out in the Normandy battles. My grandfather also had to help in the battles in Vietnam, so my pin had wings and an anchor inside. My Great-grandmother was a nurse in the Navy, so the anchor still holds importance here. It is red, white, and blue on the braille spots to symbolize the American flag. The words “Thank you” and “Gratitude” are written on the pin to help show my gratitude and appreciation for veterans, and to help explain my respect for them considering who my family is. It may not apply to all veterans, but it holds value for those who can appreciate it.
