Raising the Flag

The overall design is of the iconic image of “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima.” I made it this, because whenever I see this image, it is always shown as powerful and victorious. It is one of the most iconic images in my mind and probably many others when they think about soldiers raising a flag on a hard-fought victory. It has a shield as the base of the pin to show strength and power in the color of light gray and dark gray for the outlining. I made the color of the soldiers Gunmetal gray, because it makes them shaded but not pitch black. The flag is waving to give it the effect of them putting it up in the wind, like shown in the iconic photo. I added the words “PROUD VETERAN” to show the wearer of the pin is proud and honored to have served.
