What Veterans Mean to Me

For my pin, I wanted to go for a simple but meaningful design so I chose to make a flag since the flag has simple but meaningful symbols. The American flag has 50 stars for the 50 states in America and 13 stripes for the 13 original colonies. I used certain colors to represent different meanings red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents peace, vigilance, perseverance, and justice. I put a soldier in black because black is known for representing defeated enemies, ethnicity, or determination. I have always thought of the American flag as a symbol of freedom and liberty. I believe that it is important to remember that America is the land of the free because of the brave Veterans who risked their lives to protect us and our rights.
