The design for the pin was chosen for multiple reasons. One of the many reasons has to do with the colors chosen. The pin consists of the colors, red, white, and blue, this is imputed into the design to represent the country our veterans fought for. The main reason that a star was chosen is because the star symbolizes a beacon of hope. Within the night sky, stars have an inspiring presence. These represent the veterans of our country, which is why the star was the perfect symbol to be chosen as the shape of the pin. Though the star was chosen to represent a hero, it was also chosen for another reason. Throughout the pin, there are 13 stars, which represent the 13 colonies. Veterans fought to create this country back in the 1700’s, and today, veterans fight to protect the country the past veterans fought to create.
