I named my pin “Land of the Brave” because it is the end of the American national anthem, which shows patriotism and appreciation towards veterans. Brave represents the people who fought for our freedom and chose to fight for our rights risking their lives for the future generations. I drew a red star on it because blue stars are symbolic of family members in active duty, while gold stars represent family members who died during service, so to prevent confusion, I made it red. The reason why I wrote “the land of the brave” on it is to show that the pin itself resembles bravery and the people who chose to defend our freedoms. The outside of the pin is blue because when I was making the pin, I thought of the American flag and the blue area where the stars are.
