We honored veterans because they fought for our country and freedom. Veterans Day originated from the end of World War I. It was called Armistice Day until it was renamed Veterans Day in 1954. We celebrate Veterans Day to show our appreciation of all our U.S. military veterans.
In my Veterans Day pin I used stars which symbolize positivity, happiness or renewal. I also used stripes which symbolize the original 13 colonies and the 50 states. I used stars and stripes to symbolize the growth of our country.
In my Veterans Day pin I used the color blue which represents loyalty, vigilance, perseverance, and truth. I used the color red to represent courage, zeal, and fortitude. I used the color white which represents deeds worth of remembrance. I also used color gold which represents generosity and compassion. These colors are in my pin.
