For the Pin Challenge, I created a circular pin. In the center, a large gold star. The star represents the stars on the American flag and the star symbolism often seen in the military. A star itself often represents positivity. In the military, a gold star like the one on the pin represents a fallen service member. Families have been using gold stars to signify fallen family members since WWI. Layered on top are the words “we honor our veterans” in red and blue. The background is a simple white. These colors are patriotic and used on the American flag. White represents purity, red courage, and blue perseverance. All of these attributes are representative of veterans and their sacrifice. Along the edges, golden laurels circle the quote. Golden laurels have been used since Ancient Greece to represent military victory and achievement. Today, they are on many official seals and symbols.
