Veterans Pin Submission

Through my pin design, I have chosen to incorporate much symbolism that honors all Veterans and their valor. From the seemingly simple choice of the background, I utilized the colors: green, mustard yellow, and navy blue to symbolize the various uniforms veterans wear. In the center is the American flag with eagle wings that tie into the written quote: “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.” These famous words are there to embody the functionality of our country. “Home of the Brave” displays the veterans’ courage and the sacrifices they have made, which in turn allows us to lead a life of freedom. The privileges we are granted are mirrored by the bird wings and the first part of the quote: “Land of the free.” What Veterans have done goes beyond what can be displayed on a pin, but I have commemorated aspects of their heroism through my design.
