Poppies on a battfield

Poppies are symbolic because they remind us of World War I and that we must not forget such a tragic event that has scarred us. The Poppy represents both remembrance and hope for the future. The Poppy carries an immense history. I chose the poppy as a design for my pin because the Poppy honors those who fought valiantly in World War I. Poppies are bright red, striking the battlefield with a bright color that doesn't mash-up with the scenery. Imagine, the battlefield is all bleak, muddy, barren, filled with ashes, and there in the distance is a field filled with poppies. A field where almost nothing can seem to grow on but there is a field full of poppies.
