A bald eagle flies in the top right corner, tributing to the freedom and strength that veterans had brought to the United States. Laying at the bottom of the pin, thirteen well-laid stars highlight the original east coast colonies and recognize that all veterans, from America's first past in 1776 to our current day helped shape this country. Centered in the pin is a saluting soldier that rotates to point upward, showing respect to the person that will wear this pin. Embodied in the design is a silhouette of Ohio, the state where the National Veterans Memorial Museum resides. Embedded on the back of the design marked is the capital of the state, Columbus, and the two military bases Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Youngstown–Warren Air Reserve Station. These features are marked in the colors of the American flag, red, white, and blue. Thank you, Veterans, for your service.
